Volvo automatikgetriebe aw55-50/51sn
From what I've seen after taking both transmissions apart there's a two-piece sun gear shaft with two sun gears with the 50sn and the 51SN has a one-piece shaft with a single sun gear. There's ring gear and sun gear tooth differences but from what I've calculated the gear ratios are near identical, except for reverse which I can't confirm.
Usually the transmission is referred to as AW/51SN which covers both AWD and FWD variations. As long as you purchase a transmission from the same model year you should be fine. Other years would have changes to the valve body and possibly internals, but I'd be guessing.
Managed to find a AWSN from a s60 D5. Is it compatible? (does mine needs replacement, or just solenoids / B4 cover?).

The Aisin AW AF33 is a 5-speed automatic transaxle developed and manufactured in Anjo, Japan by Aisin AW, a division of Aisin. It is designed to be used in transverse engine configurations in both FWD and AWD configurations. The actual model codes are AWSN and AWSN.
First I want to share some designations I have discovered the (fwd) auto gearbox is model code AWSN and the (AWD) auto gearbox is model code AWSN. Both gearboxes are stated to have a max torque rating of ft.-lb or N-m's.
The 5-speed automatic Aisin AWSN was produced at a plant in Japan from to and was installed on many popular models of General Motors, Volvo, and Renault under the index SU1. On the market, this gearbox is best known for Opel cars under its index AF23 and AF
